These Vegan Hot Dogs are full of flavor and spice; don't feel bad about eating 2 (or 5) they're just carrots!
Ingredients:
6 Large Carrots
1 ½ Cups Water
1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tablespoons Braggs Liquid Amino Acid
2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard
2 Tablespoons Smoked Paprika
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
Method:
Peel the carrots and round the edges slightly to imitate a hot dog shape. (this can be done with a peeler or knife)
Simmer in a pot with ½ cup of water, until they are tender but not to the point where they would break. I usually make sure I can stick a fork through the whole thing and take it out immediately, about 15-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the carrot.
Mix the Spices, Condiments, and rest of the Water in a flat container and place the carrots in the mixture, cover well and refrigerate for 12 hours. (If you really want the flavor to seep in for a stronger, smokier taste, you can marinate them for up to 48 hours like I do.)
Put it on the grill or in a pan until desired consistency is achieved.
Place it on a bun with your favorite toppings, I love Cole Slaw & Mayo. tried this recipe? don't forget to drop a comment and photo below!
